Enhance Your Figure & Restore Confidence with a Breast Lift
It is normal for the breast tissue to lose elasticity after significant weight loss, pregnancy, or even with the natural aging process. If you are feeling self-conscious due to drooping breasts, you may be a candidate for breast lift surgery. At Park Cities Plastic Surgery, Dr. David Liland can remove excess tissue and reshape your breasts to create a more youthful and flattering figure. Having worked over 25 years in private practice and performed more than 500 breast surgeries, you can rest assured that you will receive the highest level of surgical care from Dr. Liland at our Dallas, TX, practice.
Is a Breast Lift Right for You?
Breast lift surgery can enhance your figure and significantly improve your confidence. However, it is important to set realistic expectations before deciding on a procedure. You may be well-suited for a breast lift if you have:
- Sagging breasts
- One breast that droops lower than the other
- Downward pointing nipples
- Nipple or areolas that sit below the crease of the breast
This treatment can also be paired with breast implants if you are unhappy with the size of your breasts. Additionally, any patients considering cosmetic surgery should be in good overall health and at a stable to weight to maintain the best results.
Financing Your Treatment
In many cases, insurance will not cover a breast lift. However, you can still undergo treatment by applying for financing with one of these third-party lenders:
- Alphaeon® Credit
- Prosper® Healthcare Lending
These convenient payment plans can help you pay for your procedure over time instead of in one lump sum.
What to Expect
First, you will need to attend an in-depth consultation with Dr. Liland. He will examine your breasts, review your medical history, and discuss your goals in detail to determine if a breast lift is the best procedure for you. When planning your surgery, Dr. Liland will explain the various aspects that can affect your results, including:
- Desired breast size and shape
- Placement of the incisions
- Location and size of the nipples
- Risks of the procedure
He will also show you several before and after photos of real patients to provide a visual of the different options you have and help you find inspiration.
In addition to Dr. Liland's exceptional skills, Park Cities Plastic Surgery also has a fully accredited surgical center.
During Your Procedure
To begin, you will be provided with anesthesia by a certified anesthetist. Dr. Liland will then create careful incisions which will be strategically placed to minimize scarring. There are several common incision patterns, including:
- A single incision around the areola
- A lollipop incision which goes around the areola and down to the breast crease
- An anchor incision which involves going around the areola, down to the breast crease, and along the crease.
Breast tissue will then be removed through the incisions. If you have chosen to also receive implants, Dr. Liland will insert your saline or silicone implants at this time. Remaining breast tissue can then be reshaped. The nipple and areola may also be repositioned as needed. With a detailed eye for aesthetics, Dr. Liland will always strive to create the most flattering results.
Typically, recovery will take about a month. During this time, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort. Scarring may be very noticeable at first but should fade over time. During the recovery period, you will return to our office periodically so Dr. Liland can monitor your progress.
