A Facelift Can Enhance Your Appearance and Boost Your Confidence
Reverse Signs of Aging
During a facelift, Dr. Liland can remove excess skin and smooth wrinkles to address visible signs of aging that make you look tired or unhealthy.
Improve Facial Contours
A facelift can also tighten underlying muscles to refine the contours of your face and restore facial definition.
This procedure can help you look healthier and more rested, which can make you feel more confident about your appearance.
The Majority of Facelift Patients Are Happy with Their Results
Considering a Facelift after Massive Weight Loss?
Losing a significant amount of weight can leave you with sagging skin around the face and neck. Dr. Liland recognizes how frustrating it is to be left with a "droopy" face or "turkey neck" after working so hard to lose the weight. Fortunately, he can tailor a facelift procedure to target the unique concerns caused by weight loss.
A facelift after massive weight loss will likely include additional fat augmentation, increased tightening in the cheeks and neck , and more elevation of the underlying muscles. These added steps can help you fully enjoy the results of your hard work.
Good Candidates for a Facelift Are Healthy and Have Realistic Goals
Significant Signs of Aging
In general, Dr. Liland only recommends a facelift for patients with substantial concerns. For more minor signs of aging, dermal fillers or other non-surgical treatments are often sufficient.
In order to achieve the best results, you must have some degree of skin elasticity.
Candidates for a facelift should be in good health, be emotionally stable, and not have any pre-existing medical conditions that could interfere with healing.
It is important to have realistic expectations when undergoing a facelift procedure. While this treatment can help you look more rested and refreshed, it cannot make you look like a teenager again.
Non-Surgical Techniques Cannot Provide the Same Dramatic Results
While fillers, injectables, and other non-surgical options can enhance your appearance, they cannot offer the same level of transformation provided by a facelift. Through this procedure, Dr. Liland can remove excess skin as well as tighten underlying muscles. These two techniques can provide dramatic results and create a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Facelift Surgery Is Performed in Dallas At our Private, Fully-Equipped Operating Room
Before beginning your procedure, we will administer anesthesia and sedation to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed.
Dr. Liland will make discreet incisions in the hairline, around the ears, or at the lower edge of the scalp.
Using the incisions, Dr. Liland will tighten the underlying muscles and remove excess skin.
Once the refinements are complete, Dr. Liland will close the incisions using techniques to minimize scarring.
Once the facelift procedure is complete, we will place bandages around the face and scalp to minimize swelling and bruising. Some patients also receive drainage tubes.
Discomfort, Swelling, and Bruising Are All Normal Side Effects of a Facelift
After your procedure, you can usually control any discomfort with pain medication. Your skin may look discolored or bruised for a period of time.
Within one week, the stitches or clips will be removed, most of the bruising will disappear, and the swelling will continue to subside. Within three weeks, numbness and itching will start to diminish as the nerves continue to heal.
The incisions from the facelift are well concealed within the natural structures of the face, ear, and the hairline. Results typically appear gradually as swelling and bruising subside to reveal a smooth, firmer and younger appearance. To maintain your results, you should protect your face from the sun, staying in the shade when possible and applying sunblock regularly.
