What is a Brow Lift?
A Brow Lift, corrects the sagging or low position of the eyebrows, softens horizontal creases across the forehead, and erases the expression of worry and anger that can result from frown lines. Brow lifts have a 85% worth-it rating on realself.
During a brow lift procedure, the muscles and tissues that cause the drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows, and minimize frown lines. Dr. Liland uses the conventional surgical method in which minimal incisions are hidden just behind the hairline giving a more relaxed and refreshed appearance.
There is no age limit for a brow lift. However, it is most commonly performed on men and women in the 40-60 year age range. A brow lift can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic surgery procedures such as a Facelift, Neck Lift, and/or Eyelid Surgery.
Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
If considering a brow lift procedure, you could be a good candidate if you:

- Are in good health, emotionally stable, and do not have any pre-existing medical conditions
- Have sagging or low position of the eyebrows
- Dislike the appearance of deep horizontal creases on the forehead

Recovery From a Brow Lift
Immediately following your surgery an adult should drive you home and stay with you for the first couple of days. You will initially have bandages across your face and an appointment will be made with Dr. Liland to remove these dressings and any drains if they were used.
You may find that a headband has been placed around the forehead and scalp to minimize swelling. Discomfort is usually minimal and can be controlled with pain medication. Within a week the stitches or clips will be removed, most of the bruising will disappear, and the swelling will continue to subside. Within three weeks, numbness and itching will start to diminish as the nerves continue to heal. Additionally, Dallas Brow Lift patients should avoid exposure to direct sunlight and consider using sunblock.
